Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. Achieves Full Compliance on HRSA Operational Site Visit

Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. (CDHC) is proud to announce the achievement of full compliance from the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC) during its 2025 Operational Site Visit (OSV).

Established in 1982, HRSA is an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services dedicated to improving access to health care services for people who are uninsured, isolated or medically vulnerable.  The HRSA BPHC OSV is a comprehensive assessment conducted by HRSA BPHC to evaluate a health center’s compliance with the Federal statutory and regulatory requirements of the Health Center Program.  These visits are a key part of HRSA’s oversight of health centers, ensuring they provide quality primary healthcare services to underserved communities.  The extensive three-day audit includes various activities, such as Board of Directors and staff interviews, site tours, and a comprehensive review of policies and procedures in the areas of Clinical Quality, Governance/Administration, and Fiscal Management.

“We’re honored to receive this recognition,” said Kenny McMorris, CEO of Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. “Achieving full compliance across all areas is a testament to our organization’s growth and the dedication of our exceptional healthcare professionals. Every step forward reflects our commitment to delivering the highest quality care to the community we serve.”

Since the last OSV conducted in 2021, CDHC has achieved several milestones, including the addition of four new locations – the Teen and Young Adult Health Center in Benson, Charles Drew Health Center at Highlander and RADIUS, and the Charles Drew Health Center at Benson High School. CDHC has also significantly expanded key programs such as mobile health and patient resources, including enabling and health insurance education and enrollment services.

Throughout the visit, the team praised CDHC for its thorough preparation and the warmth and professionalism demonstrated by our staff. “The OSV provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on our strengths and identify areas for growth,” said Chris Rodgers, Chairperson of the Board of Directors at Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. “Achieving full compliance is a proud moment, but it’s not the finish line. We remain focused on driving innovation and progress to serve our community well into the future.”
