Vaccine Information

Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself, your family, and your community from diseases like influenza and COVID-19.

Vaccines teach your body how to protect itself from disease and are safer than getting sick. Vaccines are safe and effective and strengthen your body’s natural defenses.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advises patients 65 and older to enhance their protection by safely receiving updated COVID-19 vaccine alongside a flu shot, shingles vaccine, or another vaccine during the same appointment.

It is recommended that everyone over the age of 6 months receive yearly flu vaccines and patients 65 and older receive COVID-19 vaccines. Patients between 6 months and 64 years of age should discuss whether to get a COVID-19 vaccine with their provider.

Charles Drew Health Center can provide the vaccines you and your family need, often at no cost to you.
