Flu season is coming up, which means everyone is at risk for catching the flu virus and getting sick. The best way to prevent against the flu and flu-related hospitalizations is the flu shot. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that every person starting at 6 months old get the flu shot in the fall, so that the antibodies have time to develop and protect the body before the full onset of flu season.
At Charles Drew, we are providing quadrivalent flu shots for the entire family, which protect against four strains of the flu. Flu shots are $30 per person and free to children under 18 years old. In addition, the flu shot is covered by most insurances. You and your family can get your flu shots at any Charles Drew location starting in October.
