Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. hosts the annual

Earn-a-Bike Program.

Charles Drew Health Center is hosting its sixth annual Earn-A-Bike Project. This year, 150 students between the ages of 8 and 15 will earn new bikes, helmets and bike locks. The application deadline is Saturday, July 15, 2017 (3pm). Please download the application for more details. Students earn bikes by completing four hours of community service and a short essay about their volunteer experience and why they want to earn bikes. If selected, parents and students must attend one of the two Big Events that will be held on Saturday, August 19th. The Big Saturday Event will take place at Charles Drew Health Center’s Fitness Center, 2910 Burdette Street.

This program is made possible by our community partners:  Community Bike Project, Creighton University, Live Well Omaha, Two Men and a Truck, United Healthcare and Walmart near 72nd and Hickory.

The Big Saturday Event is a day filled with fun, food and wellness workshops. As a part of the event, Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. staff and volunteers will be on hand to help connect families with community resources. For more information, contact Pam Nelson at 402-810-9869.
