The Omaha Farmer’s Market opened for the 2017 season at Charles Drew Health Center, Inc.
The Omaha Farmers Market at Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. is best place to shop for fresh and healthy foods while supporting your local farmers!
The Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. Farmers Market is open every Wednesday from 3:30-5:30 p.m., from July 5, 2017 through August 30, 2017.
The Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. WIC program serves more than 3,000 families in the Omaha area. Each eligible family member can receive $15 in farmers market coupons. The Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. Farmers Market was the first to accept coupons from the WIC food program. This allows eligible people access to supplemental food, health care referrals, and nutrition education at no cost. Those eligible may include:
• Low-income pregnant women • Low-income breast feeding women • Low-income non-breast feeding, postpartum women • Infants • Children up to five years of age at nutritional risk

Families can use many payment methods at the Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. Farmers Market, including:
• Cash • Checks • EBT cards (SNAP) • Women, Infant, and Children (WIC) coupons • Farmers Market Nutritional Program (FMNP) coupons
Each Wednesday Charles Drew Health Center, Inc. will host five market vendors as well as engagement/education opportunities with other services available throughout the community.

Free Farmers Market Tours with The Big Garden and Cooking Matters
The Big Garden and Cooking Matters will navigate the farmers markets with you. By registering for the free farmers market tours, participants will:
• Learn about shopping local • Learn about selecting and preparing seasonal produce • Learn about shopping on a budget • Learn about how to use SNAP, WIC, SFMNP, and/or debit cards • Receive a free tote bag, cookbook, and $10 market bucks to use that day
